Playing Baccarat Online or In Person

Playing baccarat online is played just as you would play at a traditional brick and mortar casino. The rules, actions and overall game does not change.

Baccarat Betting

When a new game is ready to start you place your bet and the game begins. You can choose to either bet on the "Player", bet on the "Banker" or bet the outcome of the game will result in a tie. Once the cards are dealt, the one (either the Player or Banker) with a hand that is closest to a total of 9 wins. Winning Player bets are paid at 1-1, winning Banker bets are paid at 11-10 and tie bets are paid 8-1.

Even though tie bets are paid 8-1, if the hand results in a tie both the Player and Banker bets are returned and it is considered a "push". When totaling the sum of your cards, all face cards and 10's are equal to 0 and Aces are equal to 1. All other cards are used at face value and if the sum of the cards is a double digit number only the right digit is used. For example if the hand totals 15 it would equal 5. If the total is 13 it is used as 3.

Once you are seated at the live baccarat table and a new game begins the dealer will start the game by dealing both the Player and Banker two cards. Based on standard baccarat rules the dealer will then either give the Player and /or Banker another card and finish the game. All winning bets are paid and losing bets are collected and a new game will begin.

Baccarat Rules

Playing baccarat online follows the standard baccarat rules used in all online and brick and mortar casinos. As explained above, both live dealer online baccarat and standard online baccarat, as well as most brick and mortar baccarat tables are actually considered mini baccarat. As such, you the player do not make any decisions as to whether to take a card or pass. Instead of the player and banker deciding whether to take a card, the below rules are always followed.

If either the Players or Bankers first two cards total 8 or 9 it is considered a "natural" and the game is over.

If the players hand is equal to or less than 5 the player draws a card

If the player does not take a card, the Banker will stand with 6 or higher and take a card with 5 or lower

If the Player does take a card, the Banker will do the following:

• If Bankers total is 2 or less they always take a card
• If Bankers total is 3 - take a card unless the Players 3rd card was an 8
• Bankers total is 4 - take a card unless Players 3rd card was a 0,1,8 or 9
• Bankers total is 5 - draws if Players 3rd card was a 4,5,6 or 7
• Bankers total is 6 - draws if Players 3rd card was a 6 or 7
• Bankers total is 7,8 or 9 - Banker stands

The above rules are followed for every game and the dealer will automatically deal the cards and finish the hand. As a bettor you only place your bet on the Player, Banker or Tie and the dealer does the rest.
